Who we are
Zenger Analytics was founded in 2004 by Blake Zenger. After nearly twenty years of working with health care data, he had become a “national resource” at Mercer in the areas of health informatics, data warehousing and decision support systems, benefit plan performance metrics, and health plan performance. He gained his data expertise at Medstat (now Thomson Reuters), during their foundation years, where he developed deep-dive data skills as first an analyst, then a data manager, and finally a consultant. This trajectory created a mastery of health data organization and a strong inclination towards making the data useful to his Plan Sponsor clients.
Blake started Zenger Analytics after seeing that Benefits Managers who should have been “fat” from the feast of data sent by their Payers, were instead starving for information. The data was disjointed, presented poorly, and often contradictory. Moving from working exclusively with Corporate Benefits teams, he began to work with Health Plans. There he proofed the concept that data could not be effectively wielded by individual departments, but must be integrated, analyzed, and communicated in a coherent initiative.
Zenger Analytics took those insights into its consulting practice. We developed a set of tools that would allow our clients to differentiate themselves through their health data business intelligence. Those tools include technology products for implementing the full-range of data metrics and measures—from wherever the data resides; tools that allow companies to capture the internal knowledge capital in their organizations; tools that take the complexity of the data and display it in executive-style summaries; and tools that teach Account Managers to understand and work with the data at their fingertips.
Because Zenger Analytics is a “solutions” company, we bring additional resources to projects as necessary to strengthen the value proposition and best-in-class service for our clients. We augment our full time staff through partnerships with other industry experts including seasoned benefits advisors and actuaries, experienced software developers, and talented instructional and media designers.
